Automatic Swimming Pool Cleaners

Automatic swimming pool cleaners are devices that help clean the water in your pool keeping it safe for you to use whenever you wish to take a refreshing dip. There are three types of these cleaners – suction side cleaners, pressure cleaners and robot cleaners. Of these the suction side cleaners are the least expensive.

Suction side cleaners are attached to the pool's plumbing and use a filter pump to take the dirt and debris out of the pool. You can use a skimmer or a separate vacuum port where you can attach the hose of the cleaner. When you have the pump running and the hose attached, this creates suction inside the cleaner, which then moves about the pool sucking up all the dirt and debris in its path.

If you notice that your suction cleaner is moving slowly, you need to check the length of the hose you have attached to it. Sometimes, the cleaner might be following the stream of water from the jets, which can push it into a pattern. To fix this problem, you can adjust the fittings of the return port or even add more wall fittings. The fittings should also be pointed downward.

These pool cleaners do have parts that wear out, so you should check them on a regular basis and replace them when you notice any wear and tear. This will pay off in the long run, since they protect the more expensive parts of the cleaners, so by replacing the cheap parts when you need to, the cleaner will last a lot longer.

The skimmers have a collection basket that can get clogged up. You do have to check this on a regular basis, especially if there are any trees near your pool. Leaves falling or blowing into the pool will clog the system and us often the reason why your cleaner is not working efficiently.
